Programmer Archer MacLean died on December 17th 2022 . so sad 😦
With truly great sadness we in 8bit legends report that the video game innovative developer Archer Maclean has left our world.
A true pioneer and visionary of the industry in the 8bit world who developed the true classic and innovative game international karate in the mid 80’s and so many other great games .
Thank you Archer for childhood computer memories and fabulous time playing your incredible games back in the day like international karat and Dropzone . a side note from 8bit Legends website:

Archer Maclean (28 January 1962 – 17 December 2022) was a British video game programmer. He was the author of Dropzone which he developed for the Atari 8-bit family and was ported to other systems. Maclean also developed the Commodore 64 version of International Karate and the sequel, IK+ , which was developed for the Commodore 64 and ported to other 8/16 bit systems with a great success . He was also known for his series of snooker and pool games, which commenced with Jimmy White’s Whirlwind Snooker in 1991 .
